Every therapist will bring their own unique set of skills, experience and interest to the relationship. Kate provides individual counselling sessions for clients 12 years of age and over. Sessions are offered in the privacy and comfort of a unique home office. A self-contained cabin in the park-like setting of her homes yard. Community visits, walk and talk, and virtual contact are also options for those who require or prefer alternate settings.
Kate takes a strong psychodynamic approach driven by a holistic belief system that emphasizes individual strengths, intuition and insight. She draws from cognitive and dialectic behavioral therapy, narrative and family systems theory, as well as her training in mindfulness practices. The tone of therapy is strongly relational, with an emphasis on compassion and curiosity.
People of all backgrounds, beliefs and ways of being are welcome. Kate has particular interest in providing support to front line workers in areas of health, mental health and education as well as those seeking support with regard to managing their experience with ADHD and attention related challenges.
Areas of specialty are emotional regulation, trauma recovery, moral injury and burnout.
